Gold3 phono cartridges are hand-selected Silver1s that meet such a high standard that only about 5% of the Silver1s make the grade. Grado's redesigned Gold3 phono cartridges have had their coil design reconfigured, and the effective moving mass of their generating system has been reduced by 17%. The Gold3 uses a four-piece OTL (optimized transmission line) cantilever technology, ultra-high purity, long crystal wire in the coils, and Grado's specially designed elliptical diamond mounted in a brass bushing.
Each Grado Gold3 phono cartridge is hand-made in Brooklyn, New York and tested for frequency response, channel balance, phase linearity, inductance, and resistance. All Gold3 cartridges feature user-replaceable stylii.
