The Magnespot is a two-piece reference locator system comprising of a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter has a range of 48", and can transmit through 40" of concrete. Place the transmitter against the wall in the location you wish to drill, the transmitter does not need to be parallel to the wall, the receiver will automatically correct for any misalignment.
Once the transmitter is in position, two LED arrows on the receiver will indicate the direction to the transmitter. When the receiver is centered on the transmitter, all four LED arrows will illuminate. Mark the drill location or use this as a reference point when locating the center of a stud cavity.
