Adding equipment to your home theater system is difficult when devices don't share the same technology. It is often necessary to find a work-around such as connecting an HDMI to the television and running a Toslink cable back to the AV receiver. This can be a difficult and costly exercise, and you might not get the audio signal that you want.

An HDMI Audio Extractor allows you to tap into the HDMI signal and pull out the audio you need for your sound system. A built-in EDID emulator tells your source device to generate a 2-channel or 5.1-channel audio signal. Installation is easy; after connecting the extractor with HDMI cables, run a Toslink cable to the amplifier digital input, or stereo audio cable to the analog input and you can enjoy your favorite movies and programs through your existing audio equipment.
