Overview

Gold Line ZM-1P Impedance Meter with Protection Relay

A portable, battery operated meter useful to every sound contractor or installer, this unique instrument will make measurements on 25, 50, 70, or 100 volt line systems. Sine waves are generated at 100 Hz, 330 Hz, 1 kHz, or 10 kHz to read impedance or calculated watts. A selector switch allows 200, 2k, or 20k ohm range for better accuracy. The LCD display has a low battery indicator. To assure that any distributed system is properly wired and presenting the correct impedance to the amplifier(s), the installer has the choice of reading the impedance in ohms or the calculated watts that the system should draw. For example, if the tap on the transformer is wired for 5 watts and a total of 10 speakers wired the same way are installed in the system, the ZM-1P will read 50 watts. Includes built in protection relay that prevents the meter from being damaged from amplifier output overloads up to 120VAC, a Tone Generator to improve system testing and performance and rechargeable batteries.
