Installing the Software and Apps
The Dayton Audio DSP-408 gives you the ability to customize your audio system from your mobile device or desktop. The DSP-408 digital signal processing unit for home and car audio provides the ultimate control over your system's performance. Useful for both home and car audio applications, the Dayton Audio DSP-408 app makes it easy for you to change your system's sound on the fly. The software can also be used on a computer desktop for home applications.

Download the App for Free
Download the DSP-408 app for iOS and Android for free. Download directly from the Google Play Store or App Store to demo the functionality of the app without the need for the hardware. This fully functional demo allows you to test the features of the app before you purchase the DSP-408.
Android: Download the Dayton Audio DSP Control app directly from the Google Play Store, simply search Dayton Audio DSP Control in the search bar and choose the app developed by Dayton Audio. This app will allow you to control the DSP via your mobile device and allow you to stream audio content directly to the DSP when used with the optional Bluetooth dongle.
iOS: Download the Dayton Audio DSP Control app directly from the iTunes Store, simply search Dayton Audio DSP Control in the search bar and choose the app developed by Dayton Audio. This app will allow you to control the DSP via your mobile device and allow you to stream audio content directly to the DSP when used with the optional Bluetooth dongle.

There are 5 menu screens for the DSP-408's mobile app (Dayton Audio DSP Control).
The Main Menu
The main menu of the DPS app provides you with the essential functions in a streamlined interface. The main menu screen gives you the ability to control your streaming source, volume, presets, and more.
- Streaming control allows you to stream music directly from your phone
- Simple to use volume control makes controlling the volume of your source easy and accessible
- Save your favorite settings to one of the six presets which are easily recalled on the main menu
Advanced Settings:
Set Delay Menu:
The delay feature allows you to customize the delay that you introduce to your system. The delay allows you to offset the distance between drivers. Perfectly align your system so that you are getting the best performance and optimal sound quality. The DSP app allows you to use "ms", "cm", or "in" units of measurement.
Equalizer Menu
Adjust the individual frequencies and elements of your sound on up to 8-channels with comprehensive EQ parameters to dial in the perfect sonic performance.
- Select up to 8 EQ bands and select the center frequency via intuitive GUI
- Adjust the Q and level of each EQ band
- Temporarily bypass EQ settings to A/B the sound or completely reset the EQ settings to default
Output Menu
Each channel 1-8 features an output menu that allows the user to select a desired crossover, output level, and phase of that channel.
- Adjust the phase of the system by 180° to ensure that drivers are aligned
- Mute a channel and control the level of each channel
- Select one of three crossover types: including Linkwitz Riley, Bessel, and Butterworth
- Adjust the crossover slope, you can select between 6/12/18/24 dB per octave slopes
- Six preset settings that are fully customizable so that you can recall settings quickly
- Link multiple channels together for a group control over the EQ and output features
Mixer Menu
Each channel 1-8 features a mixing control that allows you to configure the inputs and outputs. You can select what percentage of each input is routed to each output so that you can tailor the sound to meet your preferences.
Windows Desktop App
Easily connect the DSP-408 to a windows PC device via USB which allows you to use the desktop GUI to fully customize your audio using the feature of the DSP software

Download the Windows GUIThe desktop GUI has all of the controls that the mobile app has. You can adjust the mixer and what percent of each input is sent to each output, control the master volume, control the level of each channel, mute any channel, adjust time alignment of channels as well as controlling delay, flip the phase of each channel, and link multiple channels together for group control.
The DSP software also gives you full control over the EQ of each channel with high and low pass filters, select crossover type, adjust crossover frequency, control the slope of the filters, adjust up to eight EQ channels frequency, slope, and Q. The desktop GUI also provides graphical representation of of each of the 10 PEQ filters.
