The closed back earcups help keep background noise to a minimum and the padded adjustable headband means they can be worn for extended periods of time without fatigue. The boom mounted microphone uses a cardioid polar pattern tailored to pickup speech with maximum vocal intelligibility over a wide range of frequencies and can be flipped to either side of the headset for use on the left or the right side.
